Achim Bosch has officially taken as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Deutsche R\u00fcckversicherung AG (Deutsche R\u00fcck) as of July 1st, 2025, from Frank Schaar, who held the role since February 2018, and is retiring.<\/p>\n

\"AchimThe Supervisory Board of Deutsche R\u00fcck<\/a> had appointed Bosch as its new CEO on November 18th, 2024. He has been a member of the Board of Executive Directors of the company since early 2019.<\/p>\n

Simultaneously, Executive Board member Caren B\u00fcning has been appointed as Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO), Deutsche R\u00fcck. Meanwhile, life reinsurance and capital investment will continue to be led by Executive Board member, Michael Rohde, as Chief Financial Officer (CFO).<\/p>\n

Bosch joined Deutsche R\u00fcck on January 1st, 2019 as CUO, managing the non-life market segment. He began his professional career at Concordia Versicherung in Hanover and went on to serve at General Reinsurance AG in Cologne, where he was appointed to the Executive Board in 2008.<\/p>\n

Additionally, Bosch will also take over as Chairman of the Executive Management of DR Swiss in Zurich, Deutsche R\u00fcck’s subsidiary, also effective July 1st, 2025. The company stated that the Executive Management will be expanded by one member as the Board of Directors have appointed Dr Stefan Ostermeier as CFO.<\/p>\n

Prof. Dr Frank Walthes, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Deutsche R\u00fcck, commented, “With Achim Bosch, Caren B\u00fcning and Michael Rohde, the Board of Executive Directors is well positioned to further strengthen Deutsche R\u00fcck’s central role in its home market and to continue the internationalisation strategy initiated by Frank Schaar in the long term.<\/p>\n
