Burns brings more than two decades of re\/insurance industry experience to Sompo, having started his career with The Hartford in 2002 as a Financial Analyst.<\/p>\n
He then spent more than two years with OdysseyRe as an underwriter, later joining global insurer Chubb where he worked for more than 14 years as an SVP at Chubb Tempest Re.<\/p>\n
In 2021, Burns joined Blue Atlantic Reinsurance as President but left the company earlier this year to join Sompo.<\/p>\n
The P&C insurer and reinsurer stated that Burns “will play a leading role in managing Sompo’s outbound reinsurance placements.”<\/p>\n
