Emilie Hungenberg has joined Sompo, a provider of commercial and consumer property and casualty re/insurance, as Head of Strategy Insurance – Continental Europe.
Commenting on her appointment, Hungenberg said:“I’m excited to contribute to Sompo’s continued growth and transformation across the region, helping to shape strategic priorities and deliver operational excellence in a rapidly evolving insurance landscape.
The executive brings to her new position two decades of industry experience, having most recently served at Aspen Insurance group as SVP – Head of Property EMEA – LatAm, a role she held for two years.
Before her tenure at Aspen, she was SVP – Senior Property Underwriter – EMEA -LatAm at AXIS Capital. This role followed three years at Schroders, where she served as ILS Senior Underwriter and PMO Member – Europe, UK and Bermuda.
Hungenberg’s career includes significant roles at RMS, MS Amlin, Canopius Reinsurance, and OdysseyRe, further underscoring her broad expertise in the re/insurance sector.
